What did I learn about music videos in the AS year?

In June just before the summer holidays, we had a brief lesson about Music Videos. We were introduced to Music Videos in the last lesson and I learnt that there were many ways of promoting Music Videos several decades ago. As years have gone by it has become more clear on how Artists/Bands try to promote and portray their Music Videos to the audience.

We also learned that the first music video was made in 1975, entitled 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen. It was the first Music Video to be published for promotional purposes.

Also 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by the Buggles was the first Music Video to be presented on MTV. One of the reasons why this song was published is because many people believed that the radio business will end as people would rather just watch MTV to listen to music.

Michael Jackson in 1983 then released a full 13 minute video which was seen as one of the most influential pop music video of all time as Thriller sold 9 million copies which only had a budget of $500,000 to create and publish. Ever since Thriller was published, there has been so many directors/artists who were inspired by Michael Jackson's wonderful 13 minutes long Thriller song.
