From what I can remember, after a tiring 2 weeks of AS exams, we went into studying for our A2 Media course which was all about Music videos. We were shown how to analyse a music video and how camera work, sound, editing and mise en scene was used in a song. We had to choose a music video by a british artist to analyse and I decided to look at Rizzle Kicks - Lost Generation.
We were required to look at:
- Features of Camera Work
- Features of Editing
- Features of Sound
- Features of Mise en scene
- Features of Generic Signifiers
- Features of Creativity and Innovation
All these features are what make music videos today so appealing to their target audience. My task was to see how these features were used in the music video I wanted to analyse which was Rizzle Kicks - Lost Generation. Below I have shown a short presentation of my analysis.
