What did I learn about music videos in the AS year?

In June, during the AS year, we briefly learned a few things about music videos. For a start, we learned that music videos were used as a way of promoting a song of an artist/band. Furthermore, to provide the viewer with a higher understanding of what connotation the artist was trying to portray with the song.

We also learned that the first music video was made in 1975, entitled 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen. It was the first video clip to accompany a song for promotional purposes.

Moreover, 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by the Buggles was the first music video to be shown on MTV in 1981, where people thought that the radio business will come to an end due to the introduction of visuals for the song.
