Planning - Ancillary Mock Up Feedback and Changes

Here is the feedback I got from Rebecca about my mock up for both my ancillary products. I think there is a lot of room for improvement which I will do in the upcoming blogposts. I think my mock up was very brief and it needed colour and fonts to give her a real sense of things. Also, because this was just my ideas, I have made a few changes to my idea on both products.

DIGIPAK:

For the Digipak, I want to make a few changes:

1- Instead of the silhouette of the London landscape being just in 'GOLD' I want it to be an actual picture, but I will bleed the colour out a bit so that it fades into the sunglasses my artist will wear.  Since I am not very experienced in PhotoShop, I don't think I will be skilled enough to know how to outline the silhouette in Gold as it will take a lot of time.  I need to be more realistic with my abilities and I think if I bleed the colour of the sunset into the glasses it will be just as effective because it is still following the golden colour scheme. This will apply to the inside of the DigiPak also where I mentioned the gold outline.

2- Also, again, i am not skilled in using PhotoShop and making a flier to go with the DigiPak would require a lot of time and practice to make it effective. Also, most DigiPaks I have looked at in the rap genre do not include this additional element. I just wanted to add value and if I had more time, I would have loved to include it with my DigiPak but, realistically, I am a new learner to PhotoShop and I would like to spend the time I have to make my DigiPak look more effective than rushing it.

3 - I am also undecided now about the sun rays. I may not use them as I am starting to think it looks childish.

ADVERTISEMENT:

For the Advertisement, the only change I wanted to make was that instead of using a different picture (the big one in the corner) I want to use the same picture on the DigiPak. The reason I changed my mind about this was because, I was looking back at the research I did on DigiPaks and Advertisements and noticed that all of the ones I analysed used the same image as the DigiPak and changed it very slightly with where the fonts were placed.  I also liked how all of them were portrait instead of landscape but I will ask for feedback on this once I have re-drafted my ancillary products.
